We are extremely saddened by the murder of Erona Cokli in Ferizaj, a 21 year old woman.
This is another case of femicide which happens in the hands of the state, showing the continued failure of institutions to protect the lives of women.
We send our deepest condolences to the family and we demand from all the responsible institutions to act swiftly and professionally in handling this case, and from the media to respect the privacy of her family.
Killing of women should be treated as a national emergency by Kosovo’s institutions so this cycle of gender based violence comes to an end.
